Wellman Biosciences is the only manufacturer in the world with the expertise to produce L-valine and D-valine products that are free from contamination of other amino acids such as alanine, isoleucine and leucine. Compared with other products, Wellman's L-valine and D-valine product line offers utmost purity and is therefore extremely useful as a building block for the agricultural, biotechnological, and pharmaceutical industries. Wellman Biosciences is continually expanding its scientific and technological base, assigning a high priority to advanced R&D as well as state-of-the–art plants and equipment to ensure environmentally safe and quality-focused production. As a result, the company is constructing the production facility to become one of the largest producers of L-2-aminobutyric acid (1,000 tons per year), a key starting material for the production of Levetiracetam and intermediates.
